The College of Agriculture, Junagadh Agricultural University, Junagadh (Gujarat) is to organize a five days vocational training programme on: ‘New-Age Skills under Changing Agricultural Scenario’ under NAHEP-IDP from 29th January to 02nd February 2020. As a part of this programme, guest lectures have been arranged of eminent faculties, national professors, subject experts, and CEOs / Managing Directors of prominent agricultural companies. The topics of the guest lectures range from Hydroponics to Internet of Things to Startups in agriculture. The main objective of this training programme is to impart professional and technical skills to the undergraduate students pursuing B. Sc. (Hons.) Agri. and B. Tech. (Agril. Engineering). At the same time, it is also felt that apart from professional skills the students should also be given exposure under environmental conservation and social values so that they would shape up to be model citizens contributing to the country's development. Altogether, 350 undergraduate students will be participating in this training programme and will be exposed to a gamut of skillsets. In addition, it is also proposed to sign three MoUs with Vertical Farming Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Bengaluru; Eduxlab India Pvt. Ltd., Gurugram; and INCOTEC India Pvt. Ltd., Ahmedabad towards enhancing skillsets among students and faculties and to strengthen the academic-industry liaison.
