Objective:

1. To increase the crop yield using novel strategies against field and horticultural crop diseases caused by fungi, bacteria, viruses, phytoplasmas and nematodes.

2. To improve the quality of field and horticultural crops by combating the different diseases.

Pre Event Description :

This training programme will be conducted under the aegis of NAHEP-IDP, a project being operated at the University funded by ICAR, New Delhi for improving the overall competency of the undergraduate students of the University. Recently agricultural crop production reaching a milestone with respect to quality products. But, sometimes biotic and abiotic factors influence adversely on yield of crops and deteriorate the quality. Hence, the identification of causal agents and symptoms produced on field as well as horticultural crops and their remedial measures are an important aspects for minimizing the diseases for healthy crop production. Disease diagnosis and their management creates job opportunities for entrepreneurs.
