Objective:

The objective of the Vocational Training 22 is to impart the knowledge of an application of solar energy for sustainable agriculture and rural development, etc. for undergraduate students

Description:

Solar energy's potential is relatively untapped in increasing agricultural productivity and rural development in general. With a supportive financial and institutional environment, solar energy systems could significantly improve water supply for consumption, irrigation and livestock; food preparation and refrigeration; veterinary services; communication; and village tourism. The training program on solar energy technologies for sustainable agriculture and rural development will enhance the knowledge and impart the skill on recent solar energy technologies and its application to solarising the agriculture. The training module is designed such a way that it covers the applications of solar power for the various small scale industries on crop drying, food processing, cold storage, etc. In addition, the training has an intervention in solar energy for agro-entrepreneurship, enabling capacity building and there by enhancing the skills and its promotion for sustainable agriculture, e.g. solar photovoltaic water pumps, agrivoltaic system, greenhouse technologies, solar dryers for post-harvest processing.
