Pre Event Description :
The concept of watershed management has evolved to ensure effective use of both natural and social capitals. Thus, the watershed development programmes include land, water and human resources as essential components. The watershed programme is primarily a land based programme, which is increasingly being focused on water, with its main objective being to enhance agricultural productivity through increased in situ moisture conservation and protective irrigation for socio-economic development of rural people. Over the years, the sustainable use of land and water has received wider attention among policy makers, administrators, scientists and researchers. This vocational training will cover the wide spectrum of topics pertaining to Water Harvesting Technologies : Past & Present, MIS-More Crop Per Drop : PMKSY, Soil and Water Management in Narmda Command Area, Water harvesting and management, Scope of IOT and AI in watershed monitoring, Soil & Water Conservation structures in watershed, Water Resources Management-Case Study of AKRSP, Hydrological monitoring for Participatory Groundwater Management in Watershed, Groundwater recharge & its management, Integrated Watershed Management Water Resources Development in Coastal Area : Issues, Status and Solutions, In-Situ water conservation technologies for watershed management, Forestation strategies for watershed development and management etc. to enhance the knowledge in the said areas among the students.
